counting the days

excited na ako mag november 26. i asked my tita to bring home something i asked my cousin to buy for me from the states. and now i’m counting the days. hehe. plus, that’s the day my doctor’s coming back from his trip from i dunno where. basta sabi ng receptionist nya last saturday when i came for a follow-up check-up: he’s out of the country and will be back on the 26th. so i have 2 things to look forward to on the 26th.

antuken = non-stop daldal

had a fun night last sunday. maldito was in town, at kahit sinungitan ako ni hubby at ayaw payagan, i still went ahead and met up with him.

while at work, i asked him & jeck where we were going to hang out. ang sagot chosen ground daw, 5 pm. somewhere in malate. so, okei. parang malapit lang din ang malate sa bus station, so hindi hassle ang pag-uwi ko.

palagay ko jeck’s not very familiar with malate, like me (sows, ’twas ages ago nung nagimik kami dun), kaya we decided to meet up at rob muna. he said nbs daw kami magkita. ansarap talaga magbabad sa bookstore. i kept on wishing i had tons of money so i could buy the books that i wanted.

ang unang natanong ko nga pala kay maldito eh kung bukas na ba yung place ng 5pm? knowing malate kse, late sila di ba?

we walked along bocobo until we reached nakpil. the old places i used to hang out were still there. verve room. common ground. and then it struck me. hindi kaya common ground ang mini-mean ni maldito when he said chosen ground? sakto, pagdating namin sa tapat ng common ground, andun din si maldito with two of his friends.

turned out, sarado pa ang place na gusto nilang puntahan. we ended up hanging out at the one in front of where we met.

tahimik sa personal ang 2 bloggers na kasama ko (kapanipaniwala ba?). dahil ayoko ng dead air. daldal galore ang nagawa ko.

twas a fun night. when xg arrived, mejo napabuntung-hininga ako. kse feeling ko may ka-relyebo na ko. hahaha.

dahil matindi pa kay cinderella ang curfew ko, had to leave by 8pm dapat. pero i waited awhile longer to meet xg. i read her blog (hello, di ba obvious, nasa blogroll ko), pero i don’t comment. hehe. shy daw.

thanks jeck sa paghatid sa bus station. and thanks maldito for the chicha na 3 bayan pa ang pinanggalingan. at sa guitar kitchen (hehehe). bitin yung gimik, para saken. pero that was better than not meeting up with you guys at all. dahil strict si hubby, i had to compromise di ba.

too bad, i wasn’t able to witness you guys singing on-stage. hahaha.

lotsa goodies!

my mom arrived last sunday from the states. after 6 months of gallivanting in the different states of the u.s. of a. she finally came home. (hahaha, it wasn’t exactly gallivanting, exaj ko na yun) i think she finally missed us. 🙂

as early as 4am of dec 7, i was awake already. her flight was arriving at 545 and my brother told me that they were leaving the house at 430am. they were picking us up on the way to the airport (which didn’t happen. they left a little before 5am, i think). we got to the airport at around 530 (surprisingly, no traffic in slex) and when we called her she said her flight was early. that she got there around 5am, and that she was still waiting for her luggage.

we had breakfast at pancake house, petron-slex and got home before the manny-dela hoya game started (not the main event ha).

of course, all of us were excited to open her luggage (2 big maletas plus 1 big box) and see what pasalubongs she had for us. (not including the 2 balikbayan boxes that arrived before she did and she specifically told us not to open until she’s there to do it) my nephew yohan (who’s 5) was funny when he immediately asked her “mama” where his pasalubongs were. that was the first thing that my mom took out. she searched through her bags and looked for yohan’s toy first. when he got it, of course, he was so happy.

so one by one, we went through all the bags and all the boxes. and yohan squeezed through all of us, went near my mom and asked her: ” is there anything more for me there mama?” hahaha. i told him: “we’ll call you if you have anything more, go.” but he stayed in one corner and we all laughed again when, after a few minutes, he shouted: “there, that’s for me! i can see my name!”

i was amazed and asked my brother (his dad) unbelievably: “he could read already???” and my kuya replied that yohan knows how to read his name already. it was fun trying to fight off for the pasalubongs with my cousins. hehe. mom was talking non-stop since she got on the van until we left that night, after dinner, telling us all about the different experiences that she had. when we went there again last night, the stories haven’t ended. hahaha.

and of course i want to thank all our relatives in the states for all these goodies: patrick and mylynn for my number 1 bilin — so pink body mist from gap (can’t find one here), kuya lester and ate rachelle for the chocolate, my ninang chona for some of the clothes. and to my cuz’s gf, hazel for the bluegreen blouse and the black sando with matching bottom. and of course to my very wonderful and very generous mom who bought most of what’s in the pictures. we were actually asking kirby (my cousin) for the digital picture keychain

while chatting with him last week, he showed us this item, which wasn’t really what he was showing us, but samples of the digital frames that his mom was asking for. we begged him to buy one for us (one for his sister monet and one for me) but it showed that the item had no stock available online and that it wasn’t sold in the stores. he just laughed at us but i was so happy to see it in one of my mom’s luggage. we actually thought kirby bought it for us, but mom said she did. sooper thanks mom!

bag holder

a handy bag holder. girls woud love this. i actually heard that this is available in one of the stalls in greenhills, but since i had no time to go there and shop for one, it was a good thing that mom brought some of these. you just put this on the table and it sort of works like a hook that could hold your bag (esp. when you’re out in a restaurant, etc.). hubby and i’d also like to thank tita marirose and her family for their belated wedding gift ($$). we don’t mind at all that it’s late.

aside from these stuff that mom brought, she said there are still boxes that’ll be arriving, hopefully before christmas, containing the bags that we are waiting for (still from our relatives). i asked mom to hold the opening of those boxes when i’m around. hehe.

before these frenzy, i actually got some stuff from my hubby’s aunt, who also sent a balikbayan box in time for christmas. she’s actually one of our ninangs during our wedding. she sent me these…

what can i say? santa came a few weeks early at our house. hehehe. aren’t you just envious of me??? hahaha.

belgian chocolates anyone?

our friend who’s with the dfa came home last week to take an exam something something. she’s posted in brussels, belgium. when she left last april, we told her not to forget to bring us belgian wafers. or belgian chocolates. hahaha. well. ano pa nga ba iuuwi nya, kundi ang mga chocolates. i’m not really a fan of chocolates. feeling ko wala akong sweet tooth. hehe. or kung meron man. maliit lang. choco crinkles lang naman ang mahilig ako. 🙂

well, eto na ako’t nang-i-inggit. hehe. these are what she brought for us…

ano pa nga ba ang verdict kundi… masarap sya. i also got a bottle opener and a wine opener pero di ko nakunan ng pics.

we got the pasalubong sunday. monday night, after dinner, i told my in-laws to try the belgian chocos (which i haven’t tasted yet also) that my friend brought. hubby took out the box from the ref. asked my MIL to choose what she liked. she got one. took a bite and said: “matamis!” hubby replied with: “tsokolate eh”. hahaha. sometimes i really find my MIL funny. meron din sya before (when i cooked sinigang na baboy), pag taste ng soup ang sabi: “maasim!” hahaha. sinigang nga kse di ba.

until now, di pa ubos ang chocolates. the truffles are divine! pero truly too sweet for my taste. i tried one last sunday and only had a bite. gave the rest to hubby. dahil may ubo at sore throat si hubby (na mahilig sa chocolates), wala mashado kumakain ng chocolates. hehehe. gusto nyo? 😉

promdi

my mom visited me today. night shift ako sa work at sakto namang ako lang ang tao sa bahay. my FIL was at work and my MIL was at her therapy (she got into an accident last year and she’s doing therapy twice a week). actually it was my cousin who really wanted to visit me. may mga hiniram. sumabit lang ang mudra. natatawa ako. kse when they got out of the car ay may mga bitbit na gulay. akala mo galing probinsiya (eh mga 20-30 mins away lang naman ang bahay namin sa bahay nila). reminds me so much of old movies na galing probinsiya ang mga nanay at lumuwas ng maynila may mga bitbit na bayong. although hindi naman bayong ang bitbit nila. eto mga dala nila…

saglit nga lang din sila dito. i wasn’t decided yet if i’ll call in sick at work. tinitimpla ko pa ang katawan ko. sabi ng mudra ay magrest na lang daw ako. kaso mahirap umabsent from work pag last workday of the week.

at ngayon, absent na nga ako. i hate this feeling. may sore throat ka na. may lagnat pa. at may bonus pang runny nose. haay. nakapasak na talaga ang tissue sa ilong ko. otherwise, mababasa ang unan ko from my colds. eeww.

pa-cute nga ako ng pa-cute kay hubby to come early at sicky ang wife nya. uminom daw ako ng gamot. lots of fluids. at susubukan daw nya umuwi early. haay. time moves so slowly when you’re not doing anything. antagal dumating ni mr. antuken. haay.
